Boyd Bracken Alloy Wheels: USA-Made, Trail-Tough
Rolling on the Boyd Bracken 29” Alloy Boost wheelset, the Clermont is equipped with a USA-made wheel system that blends precision, durability, and real-world trail performance. Handbuilt in Greenville, South Carolina, the Bracken is Boyd’s premium alloy enduro/trail wheelset—designed to hold its line in rock gardens, rail corners, and take the hits that come with aggressive riding.
With a wide 30mm internal width and 34mm external, the rims offer optimal support for modern high-volume MTB tires. This provides increased traction and sidewall stability at lower pressures, helping you carve with confidence in loose or technical terrain.
Each wheel features 32 spokes front and rear, using Pillar Wing 21 butted spokes and Pillar DSN brass double square nipples, laced in a durable 3x pattern on both sides for balanced strength and compliance. The Tripel hubs at the heart of the wheels bring 5° engagement thanks to a 6-pawl, 72-tooth ratchet system—translating pedal input into near-instant forward momentum.
Sealed S&S ABEC-5 bearings keep things rolling smoothly, even through mud, grit, and hard miles.
